INTRODUCTION
The world is holding its breath.
The hit on Hassan Nasrallah, the head of Hezbollah, represents the most bold move Israel has taken since the October 7th attacks, even more significant than the (alleged) Israeli operation against Ismail Haniyeh, the chief of Hamas, in Tehran.
Where the Middle East and the world go from here is up in the air. But, two things are becoming clear:
Israel and Hezbollah are already at war, even without an official declaration. And, the steps either side is taking, from the pager explosions across Beirut to the Hezbollah-attempted ballistic missile strike on the Mossad headquarters, represent a different kind of strategy and different rules of war. Everything is on the table.
