INTRODUCTION


As QUAD meets on September 21, drawing in the leaders of the US, India, Japan, and Australia, the bloc's future is up in the air. One of America’s key geopolitical groupings in Asia, which had tremendous momentum just a short time ago, appears to be lost in the wind.


This changes the calculation for QUAD and its members individually, all of whom are in growing geoeconomic competition with China. And, who are turning to alliances, formal and informal, to take on Beijing.
